Hello hello,
I have East Coast - West Coast jet lag. We arrived home from Montreal yesterday afternoon, and it’s back to reality today… but the sleep confusion will make things challenging for a day or so. I was awake at 3 am, so by the time 5 am rolled around, I was ready and raring to go. I have made a coffee in the quiet darkness of the house, and now I sit here looking through my Montreal “travel diary,” wondering what to make of it. I had plans, but other things emerged.
Firstly, the Montreal cold crushed my lofty ideas of sitting on street corners drawing monumental historic buildings. There was freezing wind, freezing rain, and freezing snow—Springtime in Montreal. We did have one or two delightfully warm days where the temperature crept up over 4°c bringing out local shirtless men in skimpy shorts and bikini girls on balconies. Otherwise, the weather really did mean that the drawing en plein air was non-exist-pas.
